The 27th Annual Fresno Area College Night will be held on
September 8, 2010. This event gives students and their parents an
opportunity to speak to representatives from more than 100
colleges, as well as to attend sessions on college admissions and

Mock Trial is a simulation of a criminal court case
with high school students playing the various roles. Students
participate as counsel, witnesses and court clerks presenting their
cases in courtrooms before Municipal and Superior Court Judges at
the County Courthouse.

MathCounts Chapter Competition

MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, coaching and
competition program that promotes middle school mathematics
achievement in every U.S. state and territory. Students enrolled in
the 6th, 7th or 8th grade are eligible to participate in MathCounts
competitions. Students have an opportunity to show their
mathematical problem solving skills and to represent their schools
in academic competition. The winning team will represent this
Charter at the State competition in March. The grand finale is the
Lockheed Martin MathCounts National Competition.

participating school may submit books they have written and

in a word? Plenty when it's the rigors of a spelling bee and the participants are Fresno County
elementary and junior high school students. The two top winners in
both the elementary and junior high school divisions go on to
represent Fresno County in the California State Spelling
Championship that's held in May.
